If you provide some more information (that maybe only you know at this point) I think you might get better responses from folks probably more knowledgeable than I. E.g. what are the services, desired elevations and depths, crossing angles, and specified piping materials for both pipelines (or if you really mean one pipeline what is it).

Also, specifically what kind of "road" are you talking about (the answer you eventually get would perhaps be far different referenced from the surface of an unpaved driveway than it would be from that of an interstate highway that had in an of itself a few feet paving and subbase depth)? Finally, where the project is could conceivably also affect the answer, as government etc. authorities or regulators might even want their say on some issues.

This is not the place for such a question. You should ask someone who can be held liable for his advice.

You will need to provide more information than, "swampy terrain".

Hello

As a general standard with Marl or aggregate backfill you need 2.2m backfill over the top of the Pipe. If you need more percise calculations for any heavy vehicular movment traffic, i can forward you a sample calculations. However, if you do not have heavy eqpt like cranes etc., then the above is fine. YOu can email me at fareed_siddique@yahoo.com
