A/C basement

09/11/2009 7:37 AM

Dear all. I have to present an university proyect. I need to design an A/C basement with is going to be located in the roof of a building.

I need to know which data I need to take into account, the only specifications i have are:

The vibrations transmition from the equipment to the structure can not exceed the 10%

the basis should be designed seismic proof

what information should I ask to the client

Ok, you already have some important constraints for your project. I'm pretty sure you also have machinery size and weight, attachment points, vibration expected spectrum, access points needed, building attachment points and sizes, including access ways and restrictions for parts transportation and installation with available hoisting points in the structure and all that stuff. Seismic proof? So you already should know from which standard and definition of expected seismic events you are dealing with. There are a lot of commercial constraints, material availability and subcontracting issues to solve as well as your design goes on.

AH! I forgot: the site is not a homework cheating device. I already have spoken too much again!

Please provide a full description of your problem and post some specific questions.

First of all, Basements are usually ventilated rather than A/C. Please confirm it & also let me know the area & also the location(which country).
