ASTM A516 Grade 70 Steel

if a KILN is designed to be fabricated from 20g material ''china code'' and for any reason it has been fabricated from A 516 Gr70 is there any problem or not ? and where can i find a reference for working temperatures for different types of steel ?

• For ASME and ASTM materials, you can find the Applicability and Max. Temp. Limits in addition to the Max. Allowable Stress Values from code of ASME BPVC, Section II, Part D.

• To compare between the two materials, you are kindly requested to provide a full specifications for China material to include chemical analysis and mechanical properties, and also the design conditions of the KILN.

• What do you mean with 20g material?

First of all please tell us about the kiln is cement kiln or any other. Please tell us detail chemical composition of china grade.

20g steel : C% up to 0.24 Si% up to 0.37 Mn% up to 0.65 ''chinese code'' data accuired from key to steel so it's a mild steel

unfortunately i don't have ASME sections , where can i download them ?

up till now what i have reached is that A516 Gr70 can be used for a furnace material up to 800 degrees F
