Does any one know of Los angeles underground methane beng used a as a fule source

There are lost of oil wells in the city of LA that are spread around a few districts

But in the wilshire district has anyoune done any study on the potential use of this bubbling up of metheane that affects the subway system operations at times, and potentially the new planned subway extensions ,to be used as a potential energy source;ie the use of fuel cels or microturbines to feed into the local grid.

I grew up around that section of town and I have never heard of any plans to capture methane. The problem is it's everywhere. It comes through the grass and sidewalks, like a scottish bog!
