I have a Kia Sportage 2001.

I also have an OBDII. I've had the #1spark plug need replacing and a timing belt go out.

And I have an engine light that is on all the time.

My OBDII reader couldn't tell me about the timing belt because the engine wasn't running anyway.

However for the #1 Spark plug, it told me it was the #1 spark plug. Right under the large code that is displayed it shows what the code means in smaller lettering underneath it.

It also tells me I have an O2 sensor that is bad and that is the reason for my Check Engine light being on all the time.

You can to to the KIA website and log in to their repair information for no charge. Although, what you get is almost worth as much as you pay for it. You can also but some time at www.alldatadiy.com and get all the service information that you will ever need for that vehicle.
