CoDeSys and CANbus

09/23/2009 9:39 AM

Hello all,

I'm looking for a good starting point to learn Codesys software. I've searched but so far have not found anything useful.

I'm use to using Idec PLC software, but Codesys is totally new to me as well as CAN bus.

Is there a "Codesys for Dummies" & "CAN bus for Dummies" book?

Thanks for your help.

General information and guides can be found on the internet. Eg

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CoDeSys

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controller%E2%80%93area_network

Also have a look at microcontroller manufacturer's websites for lots of good application notes and guides on the subject and use of the CAN bus.

A google search of "Codesys guide" produced a number of useful guides too, and training courses are also available on Codesys. I didn't see any "for dummies" guides on the above subjects, but you could try your local or online technical book store as there are plenty of books available on the subjects.
