use smart home technolgy,...

time control of lights and some power outlets so that they don't turn on at an unwanted time, install some presence detector in rooms that seldom been occupied so that when nobody is in there, the lights etc. will never on. window sensors to control the AC or heater functions so that if your window is open then the AC or Heater can't be turned On etc...........and many more.

so use of the technology is one of the good conservation techniques to conserve the electricity...

It's a bit different but I go like this: It's technology that created this energy crisis...?

then, go by technology to cure it! simple: develop things that consume low energy...

also create things to generate that low energy in a renuable manner.

Eg: take the piezo electric generater and couple it with low power high luminosity LED's.

Increase effitiency. use losses in system as generators.
