Calculating total losses of transformer in a test situation

Using a 300VA Hammond demonstration transformer 60Hz single phase set up as a step up 1:2 with 120V input.

The following measurements and calculations were made at full load

Vp = 117V Vs = 228V

Ip = 2569mA Is = 1250mA

Pp = 325W

Pp = 301VA Ps = 285VA

Eff.% = 94.8%

Pf = 1.081 (Vs/Vp)

How do I calculate the total losses of the transformer at rated load?

despite that if you know efficiency don't you know losses?

why do homework here?

Before you try to calculate the efficiency you need to learn how to calculate the PF.

Clue : Its not "Pf = 1.081 (Vs/Vp)"

Why do homework here? ...... because I am a full time electrical engineering student as well as a single mom. Time is just not available to seek assistance at the college and this site was among my search results for answers.

Do you not wish to bolster students in your field?

According to my instructor Pf = W/VpIp so in this case Pf = 325W/117V x 2569mA. This is how I arrived at 1.081.

If you have any further information I would be glad to have your input.

VAp = Vp x Ip = 117 v x 2.57 amps = 300.7 VA not watts

VAs = Vs x Is = 228 v x 1.25 amps = 285 VA not watts

PF = watts/ VA

You do not have the value of watts. PF does not exceed the value of 1.0.

Watts maybe = to VA if PF = 1 but never greater than VA.

Drop the mA notation when you have these large values.

Pin *(100-Eff%) or Pout*((100/Eff%)-1)

Pin=Vin*Iin*Pfin Pout=Vout*Iout*Pfout
