Does it Suitable Management?

09/30/2009 10:38 PM

I can't understand why some Chinese companies don't give a holiday to their staff to let them enjoy the important affair of the 60th anniversary National Day to let them show their patriot's complex, even when there are not many tasks at this day. From the aspect of management, is it really a good way to just keep the staff at office?

In my strong opinion, there is no strong social sensitive, there is no prospecting company.

Alas, Alas!

It is the bad influence of the US on world business. In the US people work holidays all the time. Chinese companys are just trying to keep up...

They do what fits their culture. I don't think they have it any better or worst then anywhere else. Just because they do it differently from how those of us do in our own perspective countries, doesn't mean they aren't being compensated fairly.

Few more container of goods(good or bad) for rest of world are more important then of celebrating 60th anniversary National Day,

Or

Only PLA and CP have the right to celebrate none other.

Or

They are getting that patriot's complex by producing more for their nation.

Yes and sending out e-mails today I note that all my Chinese colleagues have out of office for the holiday on their e-mail boxes.

Oh, they'll still let everyone go off, they'll just need to waste their leave to do it, that's all .

Trust me, The Chinese have many, many, more holidays than we Americans do.. and when they day they are on Labor "Day", or Chinese Independance "Day", what they really mean, is Labor "two weeks", and Independance "Two weeks", never just a day, or two, or three like us.. It takes most workers one whole week by train or bus to get to, and from their various homes, so then they just get 1 week with family..

My full time Chinese employee only sees her little newborn baby 2-3 times a year, as she has to work, and grandma keeps the baby 1000 miles away..

Plus, most Chinese work 6 days a week, have unscrupulous bosses, that rob many of their wages, and don't forget the "Beauty" of Socialism/Communism, for a simple headache or a cough, they wait at least half a day, sometimes longer for simple medicine we go to wal mart and buy in 15 minutes..

Just a thought..

Guest,

Long ago a strike occurred among the Turkish soldiers. They said to the government: "Our wages are very small and they should be increased." The government was forced to give them their demands. Shortly afterwards they struck again. Finally all the incomes went to the pockets of the soldiers to the extent that they killed the king, saying: "Why didn't you increase the income so that we might have received more?"
