Measuring Roll-Formed panels or Panel Checking Blues

10/07/2009 3:55 PM

What is the best way to verify profiles and specific plane dimensions on roll formed panels? We currently employ profile "Go/No-Go" gages, calipers, protractors, tape measures, radius gages, etc. I would like to discover a method to verify dimensions and profiles less subjective to the user. Something more consistant. A CMM is out of the question.

Any ideas??

Look into an on line inspection system that uses line scan cameras.

Good luck, mkh
