Peel Strength Testing

In peel testing, what is the minimum force a polymer protective coating for pipeline protection will withstand for it to be certified for use in the field

Adhesion tests should be performed in accordance with ASTM D3359, Method A or ISO 2409. If adhesion is judged as 4A or less, pull-off adhesion tests in accordance with ASTM D4541 or ISO 4624 shall be used to determine the extent of poor adhesion. The adhesion test shall be done on properly cured systems. The minimum pull-off adhesion should be 500psi (35kg/cm2).

Frequency of testing should be one test per 10,000ft² (1 ,000m²)
