fast way is :

1. convert kw to ampere

2. then see in catalog, for that ampere (already times by 1.1 for safety factor) which size cable will be used.

ex : cable 600V,

untill 25 A can be used 12 AWG

untill 35 A can be used 10 AWG

for detail way you must consider :

1. cable purpose : is it for power, control, VSD, so you can decide how many core used for 1 cable.

2. short circuit capacity your system, so your cable will not burn when short circuit occur.

3. Voltage drop. if you have distance from panel to your equiment (for example pump) is far enough. may be your cable able to be flown by current as big as that ampere but if voltage drop is too big, you must enlarge your cable size..

remember : VD = I.(Rcable.cos phi + XLcable.cos phi)

I think VD = I (Rcable Cos phi + XL Cable Sin Phi)

Your answer mentions XL Cable Cos Phi again.

Am I right, Sir?
