What is meant P2 duty?

What are the things to be complied for an MCCB to acheive P2 duty?

Dearheart,

It mean P2 is twice duty P1. You need compiled all data butting P1 data for P2 rating.

(See how annoying your babble is...)

As per the revised IEC Standards for Low Voltage Switchgear (Under which MCCBs are covered) - IEC 60947-Part 2- MCCBs do not have any P1 Duty or P2 Duty. It was in the old standard for circuit breakers. Now, the P1 & P2 Duties are applicable only to MV & HV Breakers.

Alternately, MCCBs do have Ultimate Breaking Capacity (Icu) & Service Breaking Capacity (Ics) in the new standards.
