Flat Belts vs. Poly V Belts (Cogged Belts)

10/23/2009 1:43 AM

Dear Sirs,

Greetings!

Can you please tell me that out of Flat Belts and Poly V Belts (Cogged Belts) which is more energy saving? And what would be that % range?

Has anybody tried it or if any case studies or technical catalogue/material could be shared, i request you to kindly bring forth.

The proposed application lies for the motors in Winder & Unwinder machines for the cable industry.

Request for your inputs at the earliest.

Regards

I always use cogged belts. They run cooler and transmit more horse power. The most important feature is that based upon the manufacturer, a standard V belt will snap as a cogged belt will hold on and run on threads to the bitter end.
