Protection Engineer

10/27/2009 1:29 PM

I am a Protection Engineer. I am planning to start a course to develop the skills of Electrical Engineer to make them a "Protection Engineer". The chances of getting a job in Gulf Country as Protection Engineer is high. I am preparing a Syllabus for that course.

Do you have any suggestions??. What are the topic to be added in the Course Content?.

Hello,

Its very nice that you are preparing syllabus for protection Engineer. Which would help many electrical engineer those who have curiosity to enhance their techinacal skill. If possible please add topics for protection as follow:-

1. Relay used for the protection of Generator, Transformer, Busbar, Motor.

2.When to use specific relay like differential relay, Restricted earth fault relay etc under which conditions.

3.How to select protection relay.

4.When to use special class CT PS ie knee point volatge Vk, when to use CT5P10 etc

5.What protection is required in Switchyard, Medium voltage, and Low voltage.

6.CT saturation

Thanks and Regards
