Earthing Armored Cable

Is there any problem if we earth the armour of the cable at both ends?Should we take precaution in that case as not to earth the both armour of the cable ends.

Do a google search for the term "Ground Loop".

I am not an electrical engineer but,

I think you will find having more than one ground is usually a bad idea.

If it is a multi-core cable, then there is no issue in earthing the cable armour at both ends. But, if it is a single core cable, then earthing at only one end is mandated, as earthing at both ends, in such a case, would circulate eddy currents in the armour and heat it up.
