By plausibility analysis, logical thinking and EXPERIENCE.

Do never give a FEA soft to a person without experience since failure probability is very HIGH if you do so.

Never believe what comes out is OK since a soft is as stupid as the data it got at entry: wrong input = wrong output!

Hi nick name,

RIRO, I think that is the pseudonym "rubbish in rubbish out"?

This is where using a computer is of little help. The OP needs to know the relevant factors to enter to get or more correctly confirm what he expects?

I can feel for paresh, sorry if the name's wrong paresh, but it is like looking for 'Psychologist' under 'S' in a Dictionary. The OP must get to know what Young's Modulus and Poisson's ratio is and how it is used.

Like telling the time can only be guessed by fully understanding the clock face................

Hi Paresh,

You must examine all stresses AND deflections very carefully. This is to understand load paths and how your structure is behaving. Local overstressing at load application points and supports often occurs. This is not serious if overall Cross Sections are stable and within code requirements.

BoL and as a note of encouragement. "Stick at it, and learn as much as you can" ANSYS is a very useful tool to have and its use is greatly admired by many employers. Stewie

Your questions sound as if you are of those guys who got the job by lying on their resume. You have no idea of what you are doing, have you?

Previous questions about elastic limit a. s. o. are leading to the assumption that he got the soft but has not the background to use it. This is the reason I mentioned that such a situation could lead to very big troubles.

Hello paresh,

A little advice from an old 'pro'', you have serious questions that do make sense, but I wrote my post to say, "take absolutely no notice of guests who by definition probably do not understand what your question meant anyway! Ignore guests, they can say what they want because there is no com-back or means of reply and knowing for certain to whom you are talking!

Put your efforts into learning and do not get anxious about something you cannot control.

Take advice from experienced members, and do not let your time be wasted on inconsequential no-names.

I wish you luck in your career..............

Take care

Hello paresh,

Thanks for your post.

There really is no need for you to appologise in any way! You have done nothing wrong, OK?

All I was trying to say, is to take whatever the "Guests" say, with a 'pinch of salt'. If they knew anything they would join and help other. But for the most part "Guests" are just that, a Guest allowed on the site. They have no privaliges a member has like voting to say that was a good post and really interesting.

If they were truly into this site they would join, not sit on the fence calling names like little kids!

It is a great site, but I am not at all sure allowing non members to use the site without some kind of limitation is a good idea. I think maybe there should be a 'rule' of one insult from any guest, and they are out. It is hard, but the recent guests have no respect and all they can do is insult the members, most of which are extremely well qualified and have been in their chosen career for decades.

No problems with you at all paresh!

Take care and I hope you find out whatever you were hoping to get help with.
