1996 kia sportage

i have a 1996 kia sportage that wont start does not have any spark

find the spark and it will start. Or since it has lost that spark, take it out to a dinner and a movie to rekindle that lost spark.

You should look at the wires going to the coils under the cover that hides the coils and spark plugs. I have had to replace this harness a few times because the insulation around the wires fails and they short out on the valve cover. It is possible this condition could also blow a fuse. I'm not saying this is the problem, but it is relatively easy to inspect and a known problem area for these engines.

That engine needs a valid signal from the cranksaft position sensor to produce spark. If you have no idea on what to look for, I would suggest finding a shop that you can trust and have the problem properly analyzed and fixed right the first time!
