Pipe Schedule Selection

12/08/2009 11:42 PM

By ASME 31.3 calculations are done for material A312 TP 304

Pressure- 3.5 bar guage & temp 152 deg. c. upto 600NB pipes, which comes out under 5s shedule.

Can i use 5s schedule for all pipes from 15NB to 600NB? or is there any other practice that is being followed in industry application?

For pipes of sch 5s & 10 s no threading is allowed that i know.

hello,

It is better to do thickness calculation for each pipe size, then see what schedule is coming. If for each pipe size same schedule is coming as 5S then use it.

What do you mean all pipes??.. Make it clear.

As for as i know, 5s and 10s are all only for SS pipes and not for other pipes..

Moreover, seperate calculation for each pipe size will give a neat design and u can have backup to counter, if any discrepancy arise..
