Welcome to CR4 and I hope you enjoy the world that you are visiting.

Only you will know if the decision is "right". From what I see of your ambitions and study, you are dedicated and focused and have chosen areas close toyour personal limits and thus are challenged by some topics. [That's OK, as you will feel good at having completed the difficulat tasks rather than just breezed through something more simple.]

My advice is to take one day off professional study and look at yourself as the investment. Even if you achieve the MBA, it is unlikely that you would immediately fall into employment in that role without experience in the workforce.

I suggest that you look for employment that you currently have qualificiation for and use the income stream to fund your continued study (invest in yourself) and you will probably find that the employer will be keen to utilise your HR skills. You might also find that the work you do will provide excellent case study for your continued MBA work.

Once you have the MBA and the employment history, then you have real qualifications backed with actual "in the workforce" experience and move forward from there.

I wish you well in your ventures, but currently you seem to be buzzing around like a bumble bee. Settle down for a while and let the dust settle. You will be amazed at how clear the future can then become.

Gopinath,

Let me be frank here, first u should have tried a good job just after ur engg without opting for MBA, second u should have done ur MBA in Finance or Marketting, third by now you should have focussed mainly on MBA and not the Gone Engg. degree.

Solidworks is nowadays obsolate, even if u learn Pro/E or CATIA the company will not make a try with you in tamilnadu.

I suggest, 1. stick to MBA, 2. Develop better communications Skills(English), 3. Update ur Resume in Monster/Timesjobs, 4. Make ur choice in Marketing/Sales in Engg. Products. 5. Take a Note: God gives the Problem because HE knows ur Capabilities.

"Jeez, talk about pot and kettle. What form of native language is this?"

LOL, i was waiting for that response...... .....i actually thought about that when crafting my reply,,,,,,this is the way that i communnicate in chat rooms and forums,,,it is my internet style , thanks for recognizing the the uniqueness, do you think i can profit by making it an official language?.......

this is more of the way that i actually talk in my personal dealings with friends and acquaintances.......i quesss i could have hidden behind a "guest" screen......

the difference is, that i already have a degree in mechanical engineering and have had at least 10 different good paying jobs with different companies since 1978.........so, i figger that i must know how to write a resume and communicate effectively when required ....i've written technical papers, FRS,s reports, design reviews, ad nauseum over the years.....

If I were an individual seeking an engineering/technical position or asking for advice on how to achieve such, I would have been more professional in my demeanor.

First kick out the nervous mood.

As you are qualified engineer, you have plenty of opportunities. First lookout for job with the qualification you had with you.

You can search job online [ Naukri/times jobs etc]. Also, try to post / register your CV to some big company websites. For this you can make database from google or newspapers employment advt.

One thing seems sure that you keep following someone's directions to choose your study or fields- may be your parents or well wishers.

In developed countries MBA has got additional weight age for managerial posts, particularly professionals like engineers.

It is a painful observation that students keep adding degrees and expect something to happen.

It is high time you think on your capabilities and look about exactly what you want to do. Be a mechanical professional or a MBA man. Your choice on HR shows that you want to have a white collar assignment and nothing of any field interest. Again choice on core field[mechanical] is based on your parents. There seems no option or interest on your own.

Life journey starts, when we formulate an activity plan, choice of field of interest based on self assessed capabilities.

First clear away the imprints of external directions and decide on what you want to do purely based on your insights, vision and risks. Now the track is set, you can get good deal of contacts, opportunities. In India, if there is a will to work hands of support always prevail..

If HR job is your dream then stay with it. Stop gap jobs are plenty now. Earlier to activity will save you from vagueness.
