Air Circuit Breakers

HI FRIENDS.......

1.IS AIR CIRCUIT BREAKER IS CONNECTED ONLY IN LV PANELS? CANNOT BE CONNECTED TO SUB-MAIN DISTRIBUTION PANELS ?

2.CAN ACB BE CONNECTED TO CAPACITOR BANK??

3.IF TOTAL LOAD IS 1390KW THEN HOW MUCH IS KVAR? ACB OR MCCB MUST BE USED FOR CAPACITOR BANK?{PLEASE I NEED EXPLAINATION IN DETAIL}

4.WHAT IS FAHU? AN ISOLATOR CAN FEED FAHU?

5.IF FAHU HAVE MUCH LOAD THEN A CONTROL PANEL IS USED.HOWEVER I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW "FAHU HAVE CONDENSING UNITS,SUPPLY FAN,EXTRACT FAN"? AND "MCCB OR ISOLATOR MUST BE REQUIRED TO FEED CONDENSING UNITS,SUPPLY AND EXTRACT FANS?"

1.ACB can be connected to any panel depends upon load.normally if ur breaker rating is more than 630A ,it will be ACB(AIR CIRCUIT BREAKER),

2 if ur breaker rating is more than 630A it will be ACB for capacitor as wel.

3 to cal KVAR it require ur present P.F and required P.F.For given load it willl be ACB only.

4.FAHU means Fan Air Handling Unit or anything else?It can feed to any load depend upon requirement that what protection u r providing.

5.Isolator is to isolate the supply in overcurrrent or fault condition .u have to replace the fuse after every fault.where as breaker willl trip under fault condition and can be reused again.

Please switch off caps lock.

Use of ACB is dependent on current rating of feeder. Also sometimes it is client/ owners personal choice. eg some owners are okay with having 1250A MCCBs whereas others want ACB.

ACB can be used for any feeder

for calculating KVARs you need to understand the purpose and then it is a very simple formula

Query 5 is unclear
