uk brake, turn, tail wiring for 2006 hhr

Sir

I just recently relocated to the UK as a DOD civilian. I'm trying to rewire my 2006 chevy HHR turn, brake and tail light configuration. My turnlight needs to be switched to the backup light area and made amber in color. I need to wire each turn signal from the the front or from the BCM located under the console on the passenger side?? If so what colors are they coming from the BCM????Drop a wire from my brake light off the middle brake light to each brake light on each side???. Add a seperate bulb with a tail wire and brake wire???I think I need to take the combination bulb(tail, turn, and brake) out from the top rear marker on each side and tape to the inside of the panel. If there is a easier way please post and advise. I have wired in lights for trailors alot. Someone mention adding relays to keep the voltage from dropping and blowing my BCM???The hobby shop on base wants to charge me 450.00 dollars to do this. Please provide information.....

Holy cow!!!

How about splicing into the current turn signal wires with a new socket to fit the new location. You may be able to get used wire harness for the sockets... I am using this idea from a Honda accord that I used for towing behind my motor home. U-Haul ran a wire harness from the front & spliced them into the tail lights & turn signals... They used the quick connect splicing connectors where you lay the new wire in & then snap over the original wire. Done. they are Blue & Should be able to by at PX/BX... Or WalMart!

This way if you splice on the different sockets you could alway change back to the original locations if need be...

KISS - Keep It Simple Silly...

Good Luck

Are the Sockets for both lights not the same..?.......if they are.... simply change them around and change the colour of the bulb.....if wires are not long enough...(Likely only one socket will be short)..cut and spice in a length that will work.......Soldering the wires together is the recommended way of joining the wires....use a length of heat shink over top of the weld to protect from corrision and being able to touch any metal part of the vehicle............wrap it with electrical tape and put a plastic wire cover on it to protect it further from damage.....
