Shaft Design Procedure Needed

Hi Friends,

I'm now doing a project in design and fabrication of fixture for holding a 20tonne component. fixture arm and clamper design are over. the clamper holds the component which is circular and clamper is fastened to arm which in turn is mounted on a shaft. for which i need the design procedure. the shaft is of roating type with two arms moving bidirectional.

the total weight of the arm, clamper along with Factor of safety is approximated to 60tonne

pls help me in designing the shaft

can you provide a sketch, your explanation is very blur. anyway, you can always look at any mechanical hand book in shaft design procedure, or machine element design book.

Can you hire a mechanical engineer/ sure he/ she will be able to help.

pennies on the $$$$ project. hire professional for liability concern.
