That's really a very very open question - it really depends on the test standards. Are you trying to certify the shafts to an OEM spec? If so you need to read the spec and it will tell you the various criteria required for the test.

If it's for your own curiosity then you need to simulate the "normal" conditions the shaft would be used under and define a length of time. Say 3000 hrs.

What are you looking to do here?

But seriously

isnt if we are talking crystiline anneled shafts that you factor the frequency over the duty cycles x length/ the polar moment of interia
