By the question I can understand you might be looking to set up a LAN (local area network) with a single proxy server (internet browsing)? I would be unable to type all the

details to get you going...I would strongly suggest a Red hat linux book from "Intersoft or Amazon". I am currently using RH9. A lot of technical help is also offered at redhat.com

I'd hope you could lean very heavily on Red Hat for support. That is, after all, their "thing" -- if you don't need support, you can get Linux from many sites for free.
