That is not much of a description from which a good answer can be given. If you must be short on words, use (insert) a picture. After all, it has been said many times that a picture is worth 1000 words.
You might look for a manual for your device. GE has many web sites and documentation is generally easy to download. Happy hunting.

A great troubleshooting tip...."When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
There are several versions of SCR, all mechanically different an requiring different procedures for installation and replacement. The tricky ones are what are referred to as "hockey puck" style SCRs (looks like a ceramic disc), because they must be clamped in between heat sink assemblies. If that is the type you have, you MUST know the installation proceedure from the manufacturer of the entire assembly, not just the SCR manufacturer. This is because the operation and performance of the SCR is dependent upon the clamping pressure. If you do not match the specs it was designed for, it may fail again prematurely.
