API Spec 11B - Sucker Rods Thread Pitch

01/21/2010 8:34 AM

I am looking for information regarding the pitch of the thread used for the common sucker rod sizes 5/8", 3/4", 7/8" 1" & 1 1/8". Are all of the thread pitches a 10 pitch thread? All the documentation that I have been able to locate only describes the size of the sucker rod as above but nothing about what thread pitch is on the end of the sucker rods.

Thank you in advance!

API(American Petroleum Institute) set the standard for the threads on sucker rod. The pitch is I believe 10 threads per inch. You will need to get a copy of the standard to get detailed information on the thread.
