Plz help...

Sir,which would b good topic about project. im a final year undergraduate student in mechanical stream...i hav two topic..1st is about the hovercraft whose sole aim would work in rescuing humans in floody regions ,and the other is a simple turbine whose design would be some efficient...so i need help frm u all

plz help me to find the info...actually hovercraft and a turbine would cost as same but i need a project, a small scale working model which is nowadays too necessary

i welcome all your opinions...

Make something applicable today. Make a modern steam car for the street. Either make a steam / electric hybrid so you can use dynamic braking to recover electricity or go for an instant flash steam piston engine.

i appriciate your opinion but in automobile field the development in design is just improving in minutes

even if i do so,would'nt it cost more to research?...even if i go on it, for steam i cant use use old concept.i should consider environment too.i mean natural resources like coal nd some such fuels are day by day decreasing...i dont want to harm mother earth by extracting the fossil fuels by digging too many deep dumps..i agree to be ecofrindly we hav to get help of few of the fossil fuel but we cant totally depend on those....so even if i go for it i hav to start collecting information in deep for eco friendly hybrid autos..

I look at circles and cycles. Everyone complains about hydrocarbons, and, I think for some good reasons. Coal and Oil as I understand it are the remains of plants and organisms from when our atmosphere had a much higher carbon content. Our present climate supports life as we know it and introducing similar levels of carbon would be detrimental.

I see this as a deep cycle of energy, plants and organisms absorbed energy and it is now in the form of hydrocarbons, we use that energy that has been stored underground for so long and release that carbon back into the climate.

I prefer a shallower cycle. The plants that are now absorbing energy from the sun should be harvested for their energy instead of using the old hydrocarbons. The carbon released by burning bio-fuels is from this shallow cycle; it was in the climate not long ago.

When I transfer to my next school this fall or spring, I plan on trying to get my engineering department to work on fuels / engines that will use energy from this shallow cycle. Why not see what you can do too.

thanks for your suggestions,i'll go for it in sideby...actually the project you suggested is too good,i appreciate your great idea...but it takes too much time to get through it,so i'll definately go for it in sideby, but i need to hav a small scale model about turbine or hovercraft which must succeed its aim....
