Is it possible to weld API 5l Gr.B with API 5L Gr. X52 material?

A lot of combinations in welding are possible, even with dissimilar materials. However, in your case, I think you better refer to the standard you are dealing with, looking for the appropriate final strength requirement using a Schaeffler diagram or a similar tool. With this information in your hands, you may be able to select an appropriated consumable to allow your weld to be conducted within requirements.
