IBR Inspection for Exchanger Tube to Tubesheet Joint Repair?

02/01/2010 12:13 AM

Hello friends,

We have an Heat Exchanger, where process on Shell side is steam, and is under IBR certification. Tube side is process gas and do not have IBR inspection during construction also.

Need to know, whether IBR inspection is required during the retubing and/or repair of tube to tubesheet weld joint (J groove with flush to tuebsheet face) Heat exchanger at site?

Thanx & Regards

Yogesh

Contact your local Brotherhood of Boilermakers. They will supply you with the knowledge and manpower to Q.C. the repair.

Hi,

yes, ofcourse you need to find out the vedor who is having licence to do repair works, you have to get certificate from Inspector of Boiler through the vendor.
