What is Impeller CBM?

I'll take a stab. I think you are right. CBM can utilize any number of instruments now available to report the condition of the system. It's what you do with the information.

If your system is critical, or really expensive, it might make sense.

For a single simple pump, I doubt it. Did you ask Goulds?

We use CBM for pumps and impellers as CBM = cubic meter...but that doesn't seem right for liquids (your alchohol) ?!

I also searched the net, and found many coal bed references, but also found many cubic meter references.

Did you go to Goulds?

You don't do "Condition Based Maintenance" on impellers, this is done for the whole pump. However the 3196 has a built in intelligent CBM instrument system.

CBM is also an indicator in Goulds pump part numbers that indicates a Cast Bronze model, however the 3196 does not come that way.

It does come in a CD4MCu material which has properties like a high grade stainless.

So what was the context of your reference to CBM, and are you sure it was not CDM?

Thanks for the feedback. I work for the SoCal distributor for ITT Goulds. We sell a lot of 3196s. I am familiar with Pump Smart, Pro Smart, the iAlert 3196 condition monitor, and such, but have never heard of 'CBM' in context to an impeller.

Dear,,CBM for ITT goulds pumps only come as pumpsmart..or you can do it on your own by monitoring using vibrotech and temperature guages...
