If you look it up on any number of search engines you should be able to answer this question. There are a number of articles and sites that deal with this topic. If you have a more specific question dealing with this topic, or an issue that has come because of this topic; then that would be a more appropriate question to ask this forum.

Please come back when you have a more specific question or issue. I'm sure some of the more professional engineers on this site should be able to guide you in the correct direction.

replying to baker john,s comments, I have this to say-- no question is dumb-.

while I agree that search engines can answer this question, but we in our fraternity

should not discourage such curiositity on the part of a GUEST.

I would conclude by saying that a question should better be specific as there are hundreds of answers to this term--water Structures-.and also all answers won't be valid then.

I agree fully.

I was replying to the comment made before. The preious poster it looks like was removed because of their abusive reply to the guess's questions.

I feel this particular questions was a bit too broad, and after a quick look on Google I found a wide range of articles that might be of use to the guest. This would help narrow down the wide variety of variables and make it with-in reason to discuss his topic on this type of forum.

I aggree and no one should be discourage from asking questions that's what this forum is about. Any person posting a question has the responibility to make it with-in reason so we can help.

Radial Gate specifications are customized to the end-users needs and fairly detailed for each specific application. Many design firms have some standard specifications which are modified to provide the detail required for the customer. There are many components such as the seals, locations of pins, bearings, materials composition, head loss, leakage rates, back leakage rates/pressures, corrosion resistance, etc. that have to be addressed in the specifications. You need to contact some of the manufacturers that design gates suitable for your applications, and check AWWA standards, to develop a set of specifications for your specific project.
