I have a 1991 Geo Tracker. This cold weather has the choke valve in a stuck position. The engine sounds as if it is idle very high. Where do I find the choke valve and how do I make the adjustment please?.. Thank you Naynay..
The 91 geo trackers used a throttle body fuel injection system. Thats why you cant find a choke valve. Most likely you have one or more engine sensors and or control devices that are bad.
When the engine is operating in cold weather, it needs a richer mixture, and a higher speed to prevent stalling.
If your temperature sensor is bad, or if your thermostat is bad, or has been removed, the engine will stay in the cold/rich/fast mode. I hope this helps. Good luck.
