Probably the Journal of Applied Psychology is the best for what you're looking for. It does use a fair amount of psychological jargon, but it's not terribly hard to read.

You might try searching under "human factors" which incorporates both applied psychology and biomechanics.

Also, I believe Purdue University has a well-regarded program in Industrial Psychology -- you might give them a call.

Hi bubblebee,

perhaps you might get some information if you search the internet for the following expressions:

"Work, engineering and organizational psychology", "cognitive ergonomics", "engineering psychology", "industrial and organizational psychology", "Organization, work and technology psychology".

Which of the phrases will give you the most valuable information will depend on what you are exactly looking for. E.g.:

"Cognitive ergonomics" or "engineering psychology" deals with the ability to gather and process information and try to bring in this knowledge in the design and construction of technical systems. The goal of Engineering Psychology consists in the arrangement of technical systems that can be handled, monitored, controlled and utilized by humans quickly, save and without any trouble.

Whereas "Work, engineering and organizational psychology" rather deals with topics like workplace and workflow design to prevent fatigue, stress etc.

Best regards
