Start here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternating_current

There are some good links to a lot of material that you can read online or download. Not as good as "real" printed books, but free and easy to get.

I don't know what that was. I think I have issues somewhere, because I used to be able to copy images and paste them, now all I can get is that damn symbol. Sometimes, though it still works.

Don't feel picked on - everyone's got problems. Admin made some changes to image posting a while ago (something to do with security), now lots of image-related stuff won't work as expected.

AFAIK, the only reliable way to post an image is to download it to your own machine first (right click - save picture as..), and post it using the camera tool ().

Even that doesn't work for animated .gifs - seems tho' that they can be copy'n'pasted from the 'net (sometimes!).

Do you suppose it's the "ID 10 T" syndrome? JMO.

Maybe it's an Alternating Air Conditioner. Sorry OP, hang in there!

There are plenty of free books and resources on the internet (be it for alternating current or air conditioning). Try a search of wikipedia for key words for basic information to start with, then a general search of the internet once you know a bit more (you will need to be more precise with your key words to realise the true potential of the internet).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

As for actual hard copy books, there have been a number of threads on CR4 covering this. The best place to start however is with a university (or similar) course (there are plenty of basic level ones).
