Pressure Waves and IC Engines

how pressure waves are generated in ic engines?
how they can be remedied?

The wave front of the fuel air mixture burning produces pressure waves, they can be utilised to improve scavenging and cylinder filling particularly in 2 strokes...they don't need 'remedying'.

I think it would be cheaper, and easier to just have the toll collectors in the assembly hold up chalk boards. Heck, with the NASCAR teams cutting back. he might be able to pick up a out dated pit marker cheaply. ( The signs that are attached to long poles that are put in the line of sight of the drivers so they don't forget where to stop)
