Most companies use equipment to remove water from the compressed air systems. This water can be detrimental to the devices that use it. A little more info on what you hope to accomplish by adding water back in would help. There maybe an alternative to the water based product that you want to use.

Hello Tom, I used to sell industrial detergents and certain soaps were used as lubricants, more so on conveyor systems. Do you want it to mix with water?

Thank all of you for the input and questions. To clarify; we wish to start with a quality lubricant that is suitable for general pneumatic systems that is water miscible. We would mix in an additive that is water based or water miscible so the solutions combine and do not seperate. Our additive does not blend into several petroleum lubricants we have tested.
1. We are not adding water.
2. The additive does not evaporate and neither should the lubricant.
3. There may be some issues with residual petroleum based lubricants.
Solv, Inc. (803 325 4068) has a natural ester based lubricant that is 100% active and water dispersible. Its called BFE-98, and has FDA approval for use in paper coatings with food contact use.

Diesters are bases for lubricants that are prone to blend with different additives and chemicals, also Polyglycols are miscible with water soluble additives.
check UCON PAGs and ...what was the name of the diester manufacturer...
