US escapes Spring tornado fatalities

For the first time in recorded history (well at least the 55 years that they've been recording it), no one in the US was killed by a tornado in April, May or June, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla.

I wonder if that is because of the severity of the hurricanes we are experiencing this year. Hard to believe there is enough atmospheric energy for both types of storms.
