Training schools can give you training on some techniques, but not the courage. You need basic courage in you.

I do rock climbings and rapplings upto even 1000 ft.(including overhangs) with no formal training at my age of 57.

Thanks. I have climbed several towers with a crew to be sure I was ready, they were heights of 250' to 850'. It was a thrill. Thanks for your advice on courage, I'm sure I will need it in the future. Safe climbing.

Hi, you did say this fall? I hope you dont fall. If you do the company you are contracted to will probally have a liable suite against them.

My advise is ensure that your harness and ropes are well secured before comencing the work.

Nice knowing you,

Best of luck

Cheers

Joe

A similar reply was my first thought on this subject. Please substitute Autumn for Fall:)

Try NATE National Association of Tower Erectors. Also try Andrews (suppliers of wireless products) in Dallas Texas. They might be able to help you.

I've seen 'em soaring off of a hill in Kailua, Oahu riding the tradewinds. They stay up there until they get bored and then glide down to the beach. I've never tried it but it looks like a lot of fun. I've jumped static line (5x with Uncle Sam) and then a couple jumps out in Arizona on sport chute.

Bingo Sir Robin!

HALO is used by US Special Forces, Delta Force, SEALS, US Army Rangers and the UK's SAS and SBS....I don't know if the former Soviet Red Army Spatnez still use it or not...probably do, but who knows with their budget constraints??? A typical HALO jump is conducted at night as an insertion into one's enemy's (or friendly sometimes) territory, etc.. It usually starts out at 20,000 feet AGL or higher, usually up to 30,000 feet AGL. You jump with oxygen supply, special jump clothing, several accurate and very reliable strap-on wrist altimeters.......have fun gliding down, but must be very careful concerning mid-air collisions with your teammates. You usually deploy the chute below 1,500 to 2,000 feet AGL depending of course on the type of mission and constraints. The chute is not your average US Army Airborne type, but is a specially designed highly steerable parafoil.

If you want to read up on HALO, just do a Google search.
