Connecting an Oscilloscope to a Panametrics DF868 Meter

03/11/2010 3:18 PM

I want to see the transmit and return signals that the meter is generating, but I am having trouble finding an output that would give me the amplified return signal. Are there any outputs available on the basic meter that would let me see the amplified return signal?

You again! How did it work out last time? ....... You should have a transmitter located between your meter and the transducer set on the coax cables. Hang the probes of your dual trace o-scope on the center conductors and use the shields for your grounds between the xmtr and the flow meter. Dont common anything. You should see the 100Khz pulses happening (if that's the xdcr set you have) on the mv scale offset by the velocity of your medium. Try to use X1 probes. Let us know what you see. I think there are test points for this but the guy I know at GE is gone for the day. I'll try him again in the morning.
