Comparing Nuclear Reactors - IFR vs. LFTR

03/12/2010 8:40 AM

In reading overviews of up-to-date reactor engineering, I don't remember seeing any direct comparisons of IFR and LFTR--Integrated Fast Reactor compared to Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor. Can someone fill me in or tell me where to look?

Thanks.

Sue, Thanks for the references. I printed the first 3 for later reading, and decided not to print the last, at least not at this time.

Hi Lehmen,

You might try the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, http://www.ornl.gov

I know they have a division for reactors but uit might be only the nuclear type. They have a contact list and if nothing else, perhaps they can stear you to another source of info.

Maybe the Dept of Energy might refer you also.

Hal
