Building a Glass House? Consult a Sponge.

The Swiss Tower in London, Hotel De Las Artes in Barcelona and even the Eiffel Tower use the same structural constructs as sponges do to create individual glass fibers in construction of their glass cages for as long as sponges have been around.
This article describes the nature of the sponge construct and how it relates to civil and mechanical engineering construction.

When I was in London a few months ago I saw the Swiss building. It is an eyesore of epic proportions. It juts out of the surrounding terrain and looks just like a giant water rocket or big glass pickle...
