Noise Generated by Electric Power Generation Stations

02/05/2007 1:03 PM

I am trying to determine the frequency and power of possible natural noise generated by a 69 KV power station. I am experiencing what seems to be an elevated noise floor in a CDMA base station operating in the 800 MHz band and there's a power station within approximately 130 yards of the cell site. It's a new cell site so for an existing possible cause for the noise. Other troubleshooting measures are ongoing but I wanted to throw this out.

Thanks...

The noise may not be from the power station. If you are a member of Tech Republic there are others that have had waveform noise problems and solutions. If you are not a member joining is free. Look into their "white papers" for CDMA Phase Noise and Frequency Offset Effects. I'm a member there. You can also send me a message and I can get you the paper .pdf. http://whitepapers.techrepublic.com.com/whitepaper.aspx?docid=94587
