Pressure Vessel Design

I am final year student of mechanical engineerig.And i have selected a project "pressure vessel(horizontal) manual designing on Asme codes section Viii"

i am looking for some help in this regard , if any one have worked on this peoject pls guide me regarding this to how to initiate this project and what are the steps i would need to follow so that i can complete this project in a better way and on time.

Start by reading and understanding the applicable codes. The rest is up to you, that is why it is a "project" leading to you obtaining a degree.

If we do it for you it will be of no value to anyone, least of all you.

Thank u sir for the comment...

i have started reading megysey...but sometime i usually get fed up reading it because it comprises of lots of formulae....i have also started reading asme code division viii only design codes....

sir please tell me for its designing what should be the initial knowldege i need to extract from these books so that i can able to start working on it...

this is not the only project i have to work on there is also aonother project in which i have to do the stress analysis of pipe using caesar...so i am very much afraid about the completion of both these project till november...because as per rules we have to submit our project reports on november...

i have initially set a target of completion of designing of pressure vessel till the end of may...will i able to achieve it?????

All I can say is; Welcome to the real world of engineering.

I know it is not the answer you want, but this kind of pressure is part of your education. If it was easy, everyone would do it.
