Evaluating Electrical Power System Analysis Software

I'm looking for methods/tips and technical information that can help me evaluate a Electrical Power System Analysis software before purchasing the product.

The studies that the software must perform are:
- Power Flow Analysis;
- Fault Analysis;
- Protective Relay coordination Analysis.

The software's that I want to evaluate are:
- DIgSILENT PowerFactory v14.
- ESA Etap 7.1;
- EasyPower 8;

Before spending a whole lot of money, have a look at the open source package, ATP-EMTP, available for free at http://www.emtp.org/. Not only is the price right, there is a large a quite knowledgeable on-line community that provides excellent support.

I am quite happy with EasyPower 8. I am working on an arc flash analysis at the moment. A colleague of mine uses ETAP and I believe he is happy with that. Both have the same capabilities, good support and extensive device libraries. It is a matter of taste I suppose.
