America's first colony was founded and survived purely due to tobacco.

Tobacco employs over 3 times as many citizens as America's auto makers, and none of them belong to a union, they actually earn their paycheck honestly.

Tobacco is one of America's largest export crops.

Tobacco is "GREEN"

More tax dollars are raised from tobacco than most state lotteries.

I do not smoke, chew, snuff, or even enjoy the smell of tobacco or tobacco products. However I can clearly see that agendas such as this one (Kick Butt day) are more dangerous than a tobacco habit. I hope Swan Valley can handle the diversity that WHOLE TRUTHS bring to the picture. My guess is they avoid these facts, and limit the conversations to demonizing the plant. Ironic that the same groups also sponsor efforts to legalize marijuana, by calling it medicinal. Seems inconsistent to me.

What utter BS. No person in their right mind can defend the "smoking" industry and the cruel deaths for which they are responsible based on this sort of economic argument.

I accept that each adult individul has the right to smoke if they wish. I made that choice and must now suffer the consequences. Nobody to blame but myself.

Interestingly, the wish to legalise the use of marijuana for medical purposes is almost as a direct result of the cancers caused by smoking (tobacco industry). The dreaded weed is by far the best "pain" relief while undergoing chemo for cancer.

The original poster requested tobacco facts, I provided a few. How you take that to become a defense of smoking is beyond my grasp.
