Weld Tensile Testing

03/28/2010 5:17 AM

How can the weld tensile strength be tested without destroying it?

Means i want to know whether the weld of the steel wire can take the prescribed load or not?

Is there any tester available?

Presumably you mean proof test it? If it wont take the proof load ie 1.5 x more than the service load you dont want it to go into service. More details would help.

I want to know how can i test the proof load can be taken by the weld?

Can we check it on some type of tester? The tester may be only qualitative means go or no go!
