On what basis we have to decide type of floating roof. On of my client is asking a single deck floating roof with open to atm. the size of tank is 19m x 14m ht.
Ok. But i could never seen like single deck with open top atm. tank. In most of our projects we handled open top with double deck only. But we did single deck with covered cone roof.
The vast majority of very large crude tanks for example were/are open top tanks with floatings roofs.
As I stated in my post as guest 1, it depends what you are trying to achieve and what you are storing and to a lesser extent the size of the tank. Economics also plays a part.
To answer your final questions "Has anybody did like single deck with open top." Yes - lots and lots and lots.
The type of tank you choose depends on the vapour emission recovery efficiency that you wish to achieve.
Apart from annoying environmentalists and the general public, vapour emissions cost a lot of money in lost hydrocarbons.
