Georgia Tech's Graphics, Visualization and Usability center has been testing the "Twiddler"; a handheld chording keyboard that can be affixed to clothing using a four inch strip of Velcro. The difference between this device and say a PDA, is ease of access. Where you have to go digging in your pocket, backpack or shoulder bag for a PDA, the Twiddler attaches externally and requires no change of action or motion to grab. The keyboard mechanism on the Twiddler can also be manipulated using only one hand (with a little practice), so its ideal if you bump into someone and want to take down their phone number, mark an appointment time or simply jot down a thought without interrupting your day.
