Over rated Generator

04/06/2010 1:49 PM

Hello Folks,

We have Diesel Engine generator which has been overrated,

Presently At the max the load on the engine is 20%, would you suggest any ways we can increase the load for the purpose of breakin, such as load banks used for testing the generators load testing, by doing so are we looking into problems

If the normal load is not enough, you would have to add a load bank.

You want the load banks only for energy consumption or testing purpose?

If it is permanent, why not store the extra energy in batteries and then you can go in tandem between inverter and generator (but all this depends on how much is the actual load)

Else sell to grid if the capacity is say MVAs

Load banks needed for energy consumption. Can you suggest any of the makers in North America, who makes load banks.

There is no scope for supplying to the grid, or storing of energy in batteries.
